Global Security Services® was founded by twin brothers Brad & Scott Utter on May 4th, 1999. Global Security Services' is structured as an S-Corporation and is a registered trademark. Global Security Services is currently licensed in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Arizona and is capable of serving your needs across the globe. Global Security Services® was started from scratch in Davenport, Iowa and since then has grown into a successful regional private security, investigation and electronics security agency. Scott and Brad's dedication to their founding principals, duty, honor, and integrity have truly aided them in paving the way and making their mark in the industry.

Company Leadership

Our leadership at Global Security Services® believes that the security industy as a whole needs postive reform to improve the overall quality of the private security, private investigation, and electronic security industies in the 21st Century. Currently, there are very few laws regulating these industries and the training of personnel. Even with the few laws in existence, training standards to properly prepare security peronnel for the various situaitons they may encounter are negligible. When you factor in the ever increasing threat of terrorism and violence in the world you can imagine our frustration, even with our own industry! We believe that it is our responsibility, and others within the security and investigation industry, to ensure that all security professionals will be able to meet the threats of the furture and provide them an adequate challenge.

Brad Utter, President and Co-Founder

Brad Utter started from scratch at the age of 18 in Davenport, Iowa and since then has earned the business a Better Business Bureau Integrity award and grown the business into a successful regional security agency.

Brad attended Saint Ambrose University for a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. His experience includes more than 9 years of high risk security services and he serves as the President and Director of Operations for Global Security Services®.  He also serves as a Police Officer in Clarence, Iowa and has done so since 2003. Brad is a member of the Iowa Narcotic Officers Association, Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association, and the National Rifle Association. His training over the years varies and includes such topics as Criminal Investigation, W-Z Reid Method of Criminal Interview and Interrogation, Midwest Counterdrug Training Centers - High Risk Event Planning, Level 1 & 2, Anti-Terrorism for Law Enforcement, Community Emergency Response, and dozens of other law enforcement and security related topics.

In his personal time, Brad has obtained his pilot’s license and is a member of the QC Flying Eagles. Brad is very community minded and donates to numerous organizations and takes an active role in his community.

Scott Utter, Vice President and Co-Founder

Scott Utter started from scratch at the age of 18 with his twin brother and partner, Brad Utter. Since then Scott has helped earned the business a Better Business Bureau Integrity award and grown the business into a successful regional security agency.

Scott graduated from Saint Ambrose University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. His experience includes more than 9 years of high risk security and serves as the Vice President and NRA Certified Law Enforcement Firearms instructor (handguns and shotguns), Oleoresin Capsicum and Expandable Police Baton instructor for Global Security Services® . Scott is a State certified firearms instructor for Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin and Utah. Scott also serves as a Police Officer in Clarence, Iowa  and has done so since 2003.

Scott's training over the years varies and includes such topics as Criminal Investigation, W-Z Reid Method of Criminal Interview and Interrogation, Midwest Counterdrug Training Centers - High Risk Event Planning, Level 1 & 2, Anti-Terrorism for Law Enforcement, Community Emergency Response, Animal Abuse Investigaton and dozens of other law enforcement and security related topics.

In his personal time, Scott like his twin brother has obtained his pilot’s license and is a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) and QC Flying Eagles. Scott also enjoys teaching new officers the various skills needed to succeed in security and law enforcement as it relates to Firearms, OC and Expandable Police Baton.
